Dirtybird Campout music festival has been thriving in California for the past three years. Led by Dirtybird record label owner Claude VonStroke, the festival is packed with camp activities such as Ping-Pong, archery and tie-dyeing, and two stages blasting groovy house music. Next year, the event will take place for the first time on the East Coast, Feb. 2-4 at the Forever Florida campgrounds in St. Cloud. Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4.
“Campout was one of the best experiments we ever did,” VonStroke said in a 2016 interview. “We didn’t know if anyone would play camp games or really get into it … It was a huge risk, but everybody did everything, and it was amazing.”
The Dirtybird crew are not strangers to Florida. Last year, they brought their barbecue to Miami for the first time during Art Basel. DJs VonStroke, Justin Martin, Christian Martin, Ardalan and Billy Kenny have all graced South Florida with their funk, playing shows at nightclubs such as Cash Only and Stache in Fort Lauderdale, and Story and Trade in Miami Beach.
The first phase of the lineup is massive and includes a mix of Dirtybird artists and friends. The festival’s website says it will offer more than 65 activities, including kickball, comedy and tug of war.
Dirtybird Campout will also offer transportation. Campers can hop on a bus in Miami and travel to and from the festival.
The full lineup so far includes: &Me, Adam Port, Ardalan, Billy Kenny, Biz Markie, Bruno Furlan, Christian Martin, Ciszak, Claptone, Claude VonStroke, Craze, DJ Glen, DJ Tennis, Eprom, Fisher, George Fitzgerald, J. Phlip, Just Blaze, Justin Jay, Madam X, Marshall Jefferson, Maximono, Mija, MK, Nick Monaco, Pearson Sound, PillowTalk, Rampa, Roni Size, Ryan Hemsworth, Sage Armstrong, Salva, Soul Clap, Stööki Sound, Sven Lochenhøer, Tiga, Will Clarke, Wolf + Lamb, Worthy, and Zombie Disco Squad
